I haven’t written in a while.
I stepped away from full-time, vocational, pastoral ministry back in June 2019. For 16 years I led, taught, wrote, strategized, researched, thought, and curated ministry related things. While life has changed for me related to my job, I still have many unpublished thoughts and stories related to my time as a children, youth, family, and community pastor in Hayward, WI.
I also have many thoughts that I haven’t both had the time to write down and the medium to share. For the past 5 years, there have been moments that I have wanted to resurrect my old blog at jeremymavis.com, however that domain has been taken over by my real estate career.
At one point during the beginning of the pandemic, I created a Zoom meeting link with a domain name as an easy way to Zoom instead of having to type a crazy long or weird meeting link. I used: meetjer.com. I’ve held on to that domain name not wanting to let it go, but not knowing quite what to do with it.
I’ve decided I’m going to use that domain name to both resurrect my old writings as well as share new thoughts. A good old-fashioned blog.
We’ll see what happens. I can’t promise anything as it’s taken me nearly 5 years to actually draft and publish a post. But as with all journeys… they begin with a first step.
