To whom it may concern,
Five years ago I had the privilege and honor of joining the HACIL staff as the certified teacher for high school, and eventually middle school, social studies. It has truly been a pleasure and a joy to work alongside families and their students in their individualized education plans related to the study of history, geography, civics/government, and other social studies related classes. I’ve especially enjoyed both the Tuesday and Thursday enrichment classes. From STEM to Civics, World Geography to World War 1, to kickball, four-square, and the myriad of other crazy group games the students at HACIL play during recess and PE as well as whatever food Ms. Judy or now Ms. Mary cooks in cooking class, the interaction with the students when they are onsite will hold fond memories for me. And the staff. I’ve built some strong friendships among and mutual respect for many of my co-workers at HACIL. When I describe the culture of the HACIL staff to others, I routinely say something like: Ms. Crystal seems to have a knack for hiring professionals in their field who are really good at what they do in their specific area and she has a way of corralling all of those professionals to both stay in their lane as well as work well together as they overlap in various disciplines and duties to accomplish this unique virtual charter school’s mission. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in an amazing and well led environment.
I have decided to tender my resignation to take effect at the end of the school year: 2023-2024. I am not frustrated or disappointed with anything related to my employment at HACIL. I am leaving one really good thing for another really good thing. Other endeavors that I am involved in have taken off in ways that I did not expect, but am pleased with, and would like to continue. Unfortunately, providing a good educational experience and timely contact with families at HACIL is proving difficult going forward and something had to give. I want to thank Ms. Crystal and the HACIL board for their trust in me over the years.
With much respect and gratitude,
– Jeremy
